ricteel Posted September 30, 2016 On Friday 9/30, I received permission from Sacred Hearts (Russ Fassbender and Monsignor Duane Moellenbernd) to do this event. Please park away from the cemetery grounds; maybe on Klubertanz Drive. At the corner of Klubertanz Dr and Columbus St. we will have a brief meeting prior to entering the cemetery I am planning to hand out name tags to the participants so we are easily identifiable to others in the cemetery. Please read this cemetery etiquette brochure: http://c.ancestry.com/cs/media/social-research-cemetery.pdf We must make sure that the headstones will be treated with utmost respect. We will not alter the headstones in any way (no rubbing grass, no shaving cream, etc). We may use reflectors in order to change the direction of light so the names and dates are more readable. A piece of cardboard wrapped in aluminum foil works well. Additionally, we will remain very quiet as we perform our tasks. If there are any other visitors in the cemetery we will stay a good distance away from them. If an active burial is happening during the planned times, we may cancel or suspend this Community Day event. If you have any questions, give me a call.
