Hi,

I am looking for my grandfathers death certificate. The look up can be tricky. His name is A. Edward DiMiceli. or A. DiMiceli Born July 4th,1902 in Corleone Sicily. He died in Wood-Ridge,NJ (Bergen County)on February 26th,1962. The reason why I want to see the original certicficate..I got a copy of it..and the area where it says cause of death...its all whited out. We know what the cause was...but curious why its whited out. Just on the copy or is it on the original.

Hi, Every death cert I've requested from NJ has the cause of death blocked out. I'm not sure why. My grandfather died in 1932 & his is blocked out also.!

did you tell them your relationship on the request?

You have to get a notarized form stating that you are a direct relation, or show proof of relationship by submitting relevant documents. It's kind of stupid for the older ones. I hope to go to the NJ Archives this week and I can get the whole thing if it's before 1956 or so, just let me know.
