I am searching for anything about Marta Margaret Anderson born in Sweden Dec 28 1882, emigrated to the US in August 1907. I find a passport app for her to return to Sweden for a visit working as housekeeper; and I find naturalization papers for her in 1919, she worked as a domestic . . . but no other records on ancestry.com.

She was in Seattle, WA, her emigrated records from Sweden say she was going to Monroe, WA.

Does anyone have access to any records that could help locate this lady. . . she should have shown up on the SS death index or someplace if she never married; but even searching for all those named marta in the US does not give any help!!

I wonder if she went by Margaret. This family is living on 16th Ave. Her immigration record also says she is living on 16th Ave. and her year of immigration matches.

Do you know if she had a brother named John?

Margaret Anderson, 80, a Seattle resident more than 50 years, died yesterday at King's Garden.

Miss Anderson came here from her native Sweden in 1910. She had been a member of the First Covenant Church 50 years. She was a domestic worker until her retirement in 1955.

Survivors include a brother, John Anderson, Edmonds.

Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Thursday in the Johnson & Sons chapel. burial will be in Pacific Lutheran.

Remembrances to the Covenant Women's Association have been suggested.

It is true that she had a brother named John (in Sweden Jonas). He emigrated before her.

On the same page as her obit is a death notice that mentions a niece, Mrs Ruth Valley of Menlo Park, CA., in addition to brother John.
