I am looking for Ted Davis, parents are Wm V and Lavina Davis, Crookston, Polk County, MN.

On various census records he is listed as Ted W Ted, Tedie etc., so I do not know if his name may be Theodore or if, in fact, it is simply Ted. The last record I find for him is working on a farm at Williams, NDbut living in Langdon ND.

Can anyone help with information regarding Ted after this time?

I see on the 1900 census he was born Feb 1888. But I've found those dates on the 1900 can be off a year.

Greyfox, I answered some of this in another thread but some the info he/she is giving isn't adding up?

I think this is the Langdon ND census being referred too? But he is listed as being a lineman working for the Telephone. In all the census records it has been consistent that his father born NY & mother in Illinois.

Thanks RJensen, I didn't know about the other thread. Should have checked for one. You never know, the wife on the 1930 census may have given the birthplaces for Ted.

I just looked at the Draft card and I'm pretty sure it gives his occupation as Ry Switchman. That fits with the 1930 census.

He is listed as Ted William on the draft card and I'm pretty sure he was required to register with his legal name. From that I would say he was just Ted.

I do not have an exact date of birth yet either . . . am going by records and the bits and piees of information I do have!! Sooner or later the whole puzzle will be complete, right???

This is definitely the right man, his father Wm V is living nearby too at that point; but lose him after this census too!! The other son is with his dad yet, but by the next census he is in the military, then he moves on to NY and marries and lives out his life there. That's another story!!
