Each of us have our own personal heroes that have touched our lives. My father in law, Msgr. John B. Long, is mine. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1928 at the age of 27. During his 20 years of service, he went from a crew of 6 flying a Keystone B-5 bi-plane bomber in early 30's to the B-29 during WWII in CBI and multiple other assignments including the island of Tinian in the Pacific. He was also involved in Operation Crossroads in the Marshall’s after the end of WWII He retired in '48 and enjoyed 31 years retirement in NC before his death in '79
Every man or woman that is wearing, or has even worn, a military uniform and fought for our countries freedom deserves our utmost respect. How could we ever repay our debt to them for the sacrifices that they are making, or have made. They are the true heroes in our lives.
