Hi there Valjo65 -
I spent a bit of time on yr question this morning … some/all of what I found may be old news to you … a thousand pardons if so!

CHAMBERLAIN JOHN 35 M W PA PA PIKE LACKAWAXEN TWP 1870
John is listed in household #131 of James M Rose; he is age 35, a farm laborer. In household #134 is George Chamberlain w/ Sarah J, age 25, Joseph age 4, George W. age 1. In household # 135 is Chilian age 63 and Lucinda, age 60. Chilian is listed as a retired farmer with property worth $5000.00, and a personal estate worth $400.00 so we know he was a man of means.
By 1880 George's household has moved to Dingmans Township, and a "C Chamberlain" is living in Lehman.

CHAMBERLAIN C 73 M W NJ PA PIKE LEHMAN 1880
Living in the household, age 73, as widower & 'boarder' of W. Schuylerberry age 57, wife Anna M, age 51, Henry S, age 21 & Mary E, age 17. He is listed as a shoemaker, born in NJ, father born in NJ, mother born in NY. Could this be his daughter & son-in-law's household? This is an interesting surname … I can't find a single Schuylerberry in the entire US on find-a-grave. However I did find a Schuyler Pierce Berry, Find A Grave Memorial# 3520763 … Lucinda's maiden name being Pierce this struck me as at least worth a mention. Other "Schuyler Berry" folk in AL & IL. Anyway is it possible that Chalian & Lucinda had a daughter named Anna who married either a Schylerberry or a Berry? This would place him in Lehman in his old age, living with family. There is the discrepancy between this C's occupation and that of Chilian listed in 1870 … shoemaker or wealthy farmer or perhaps both
1880 > PENNSYLVANIA > PIKE > DINGMAN

CHAMBERLAIN GEORGE 38 M W PA PA PIKE DINGMAN 1880
Household: George, age 38, Sarah J, age 35, Joseph W, age 14, George W. age 11, Lucinda M, age 7, Philip F, age 2
George listed as a farmer born in PA, both parents born in NJ. His daughter named after his mother?
My copy of the pages for Delaware Cemetery in Dingmans Ferry as transcribed in the 1930s from the volume: Cemeteries, Graveyards and Burying Grounds in Pike Co (not online) list a G. W. Chamberlain 1842-1917 and Sarah J., his wife 1844-1917 as being buried there. Maybe do up listings for this cem and put in photo requests w/ a note asking the volunteer to search for Chalian & Lucinda too? I will try to get to the library this week and scour the Lackawaxen pages in this book. If Lucinda died first, then no doubt Chalian would be buried where she is, but I am wondering if that could be Dingmans township & not Lackawaxen or Lehman for that matter.
The 1872 Beers map of Pike Co does show some property owners. I searched the townships but found no Chamberlains, perhaps you will have better luck, or find additional surnames within yr family.

http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt/community/land_records/3184I'll get back to you if I find anything else. I do get out to the Pike cems a couple times a month but the Lyme Disease tick season is upon us … I usually don't tramp through the cems at this time of year. If we can pinpoint the cem they are in I will try to plan a trip. And next time I stop at the Pike Co Admin Building I will check Wills & Deeds for Chalain Chamberlain, too.
Best, Jane / ATJ
