Please read this link for information on obtaining non-certified ("public") birth & death records from PA Vital Records.

Non-certified copies are available for the following:
Births - 105 years after DOB (1906)
Deaths - 50 years after DOD (1961 & older)

The procedure and link to the birth & death indices is listed on the linked page. Read carefully & follow directions in order to be eligible for the $3 non-certified copies.

If you are in the Harrisburg, PA area, you can go to the archives and view the original document. They will make copies for you at a cost of $.50.

I'd love to visit Harrisburg for a day or two Of course, for research purposes, there's a long list of places much further from home that I'd love to visit too!

But since I can only wish for that, I love that so many records are coming online. Even an index is so helpful.

So far, I've found all I need on that site but one, and if anyone cares to help search, I'd so appreciate it:

Eliza Ann Indian, nee Ellis, died in Feb 1922 in Scranton, PA.

I've searched and searched, but I cannot find her in the index.
