I have my hands full trying to keep Nevada's cemeteries clean. Sort of like a county keeper for the whole state. When I see a mess like the one in Hall County, Georgia I would love to fix it. But, I'm not as familiar with the area and don't have the time to spend. Anyone interested in fixing this mess?

Examples:
Ashes with family
Two Friendship Baptist cemeteries
Memorial, Two Memorial Gardens, Two Memorial Park's, and a Memoria Park with the misspelling.
One called New cemetery
Two Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemeteries
Two Schockley Family cemeteries
Three Pleasant Hill Cemeteries
Etc

And who knows what else. But that's just what I see with a quick look. Drives me crazy and I'm already over half way there. Any volunteers? And a big thank you.

Hi Bob. I've slowly been working a bit on Hall County. There really are two Friendship Baptist Cemeteries. They are about a mile apart and are both owned by the same church, but they aren't in the same location (The church moved), but if you are looking for a particular grave, it helps to know that they are two. I had edit add a note to both cemeteries about the circumstances.

I've been trying to sort out the Pleasant Hill's, but it's been a bit tougher.

I'm not looking for anything. Just interested in seeing that it gets cleaned up. A person with memorials in "Memoria" created a fictitious cemetery for a crematory in Nevada. Cleaning that one up led me to see other potential errors in Hall County.
Since I'm not familiar with Georgia I think someone from there would be better suited to fixing it. But Ashes with family is definitely a fictitious cemetery and it looks like there are several more. The ones with similar names should be changed to Friendship #1 or Friendship Baptist Cemetery #2 or something to show they are different.

I agree, but the whole site is like this. You finish and they create more. Some newbies are quick on the trigger and create a new cemetery with the exact same name. Or someone will take photos of a cemetery and check the wrong county. If in question, the Georgia County DOT map is online. It does give the names of most bigger cemeteries. When I create a new one, I check to see if some of the memorials have been done before I create a new cemetery. But I live in south Georgia and do not know Hall Co. very well.

I'm working on it, and what an adventure it is! I live just a few miles south of Hall County; I worked up there for many years and am familiar with the area.

Of course, problems within a county are never just withIN that county: there are duplicates of some of the Hall County cemeteries in Gwinnett, Banks, Jackson, and White counties.

I am having the same fun with Liberty, Long, Tatnall, Bryan and even McIntosh here. You think you got one thing fixed and 3 more pop up to take its place ....

What kills me is when they create a cemetery twice for Randolph County, GA and the title states the cemetery is in somewhere, ALA. Can they be this stupid twice?
