Is there a policy on making a virtual headstone for someone who was cremated, ashes scattered or with family? Virtual Cemetery listings only? So many family members have been cremated lately and nothing to show their passing. I found a site that makes virtual ones. Will I be black balled for using a few? I never like to step on toes or be a problem. So..... what do you say?

I don't believe virtual headstones are allowed here. I'm sure someone else will weigh in on this.

found this in the FAQs

Can I post a photo containing the text "unmarked grave" or post a generic image of a grave to represent an unmarked grave?
No. Please record that information in the Note and/or Plot section of the memorial page. If you are a photo volunteer please inform the submitter of the memorial that there is not a marker so that they can add that information. This prevents volunteers from duplicating efforts in locating a stone.

They look tacky, that is why they are probably not allowed. Also they needlessly take up server space.

if they were scattered put a photo of the site where they were scattered.
person photos also help to make the memorial more colorful. I believe you can post a photo of the urn and wherever it is placed- mantle etc.

I'm not sure what you mean by a "Virtual Headstone"? I hope you know that you can create a memorial page for someone who, for one reason or another, is not buried in a cemetery (cremation/scattered ashes, burial/lost at sea, etc.).

See the FAQs page.

If this isn't what you meant, I apologize.

Mary

When there isn't a headstone but a burial this is what I do:
