Welcome to the forums at Findagrave, Mark!
Torrance doesn't have it's own cemetery, but is surrounded by a number of them.
If you click on the Los Angeles County map and zoom in to the area of Torrance, you'll see the surrounding cemeteries that might be possibilities:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/mapCems.cgi?countryer=4&stater=6&countyId=201Clicking on one of the little red tombstone question marks will give a link to the related cemetery. Most will have phone numbers on the cemetery page. I checked Green Hills' online locator and didn't find him there.
I couldn't find an obit for him in the L.A. Times, so it was probably published in one of the smaller area papers (Daily Breeze or Long Beach Press-Telegram).
Of course, it's also possible that he was cremated and his ashes scattered. The best way to be sure might be to order a copy of his death certificate from the County Recorder's Office:

Good luck!
